Cobman claimed his fourth Kestrel title and second in three years after holding off stiff competition from Stu in the final game of the season thanks to two late goals from Sergio Aguero and Peter Crouch.
Stu needed a win and hope Cobman lost in the final weekend and was on his way to a third title himself with Diego Costa’s 20th goal of the season giving him a lead, only to see it wiped out after Arsenal allowed West Brom a consolation goal at the Emirates.
Aguero’s late Kestrel-leading 26th strike of the season and Crouch’s ninth were almost identical in their timing, giving Cobman the victory he needed to secure the title with a three-point margin.
Defending champion Steve’s 3-2 win in the final game was enough to leapfrog Dave a secure third place, with Daryl safe in fifth.
Matt finished sixth thanks to two straight wins to jump above E-Chief, with P-Chief getting the wooden spoon thanks to his incredibly leaky Spurs defence.
Final Stats: Top strikers – Aguero 26 (Cobman), Costa 20 (Stu), Sanchez 20 (Taff). Best defences: Chelsea 37 (Dave), Southampton 38 (Steve), Arsenal 41 (Stu).
