Taff's Run at Bottom Ends After 54 Weeks

After 54 miserable weeks at the bottom of the Kestrel table, Taff’s run as the league’s whipping boys has finally come to an end after a 2-0 victory in Week 12 sees the Welshman leapfrog defending champion Cobman into the dizzy heights of seventh.

Wayne Rooney’s fifth goal of the season combined with a first from Santi Cazorla gave Taff his second win in a row, while Cobman’s bunch of absolute muppets fired blanks for the sixth time of what has been a poor start to his title defence.

Not since claiming his third title at the end of the 2011-12 season has Taff been off the bottom of the table.

At the top, the double act of Loic Remy and Sergio Aguero were on the mark once again as Stu opened up a seven-point lead, while four-time champion Dave moved into second thanks to Robin Van Persie’s third goal in as many games.

E-Chief was the only other winner in Week 12, Edin Dzeko’s late goal in Man City’s 7-0 rout against Norwich giving Ewen just his second victory in the last eight games.
